Definitely Wordpress bro. CakePHP is a general MVC. Wordpress is dedicated blog CMS. There's no reason you need to re-invent the wheel. And there's nothing about blog there isn't but should be there in Wordpress.
Just download the wordpress core, choose a free theme (or paid one if you like) and you're up. Then search for plugins you need, customize your template and you're done.
