Everyone here is so good at figuring out recipes that I thought I'd give this one a try. On another board some had posted this......."
I just came from a wedding where the grooms mother made the most amazing strawberry cake I've ever had. I'm wondering how she did it.I've read many variations online; however, none sound quite right Her daughter-in-law told me that she used a strawberry cake mix and just put fresh strawberries in the mix. The she added that her mother-in-law baked it only half-way and then poked holes in the top and added evaporated milk before returning to the oven? Can anyone elaborate on how you think she may have done this and if so, how much evap. milk, how to poke the holes, etc The frosting was also described as being only whipped topping and a package of strawberry jello mix. Does this sound right? I've seen the one with vanilla pudding in it, but that's not it......." So many people have been writting in with all kinds of recipes, but none seem to be the one. Everyone also seems to agree that she must have used sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated This sound soooo good if we could figure out the one that she's trying to find. The one with the cream cheese added I thought was a heavy for a cake, but definately gave it a different taste, not what I think we were looking for. Any suggestions?Ok, I'm hoping someone can help.. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> $9.95 domain names from Yahoo!.
