Hello Rajshree,
Shortening is a solid vegetable fat product, similar to margarine although
margarine is softer. For this recipe, I am sure you could use better with
great results. Granulated sugar is white sugar. And Confectioners sugar is
very fine white sugar that is a powder, almost the consistency of flour.
Hope this helps!
Trish

Subject: Re: [CAKE-RECIPE] CREAMY ORANGE ICING

Hi folks,

Thanks for the recipe.I want to try it on my orange fruit cake. Pls let me
know what do you mean by 'Shortening'. Here in India we don't get anything
by that name. Is it butter or oil? And what is 'Mascovado Sugar'? Can I use
normal brown sugar instead of that? I'll appreciate your input.

Regards,
Rajshree
