Hopefully this link takes you to the right place.  This will show you what
you are looking for in making a checkerboard pan.  If you can find one
cheaper somewhere else (wal-mart, target, etc) then I would say go for it
because as often as you use these pans it will probably be worth the
purchase.  I have the pans because I sell Pampered chef, but I rarely use
them.  I mean I have probably used them 3 times in the past 3 years.  So,
buy what you know you will use.  If you think you may only do this type of
cake once, I would say do the swirl.
