Nutmeg Cake

2 C. light brown sugar
2 C. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 C. margarine
1/2 C. finely chopped almonds, divided
1 C. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp. ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 325ºF.
Mix brown sugar, flour and margarine until fine and crumbly. Press 
one-fourth mixture into well-greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle 
with half the chopped almonds. Mix sour cream and baking soda; then mix 
in egg, remaining crumb mixture and nutmeg; blend well.  Pour over 
mixture in pan and sprinkle top with remaining almonds. Bake 40-50 
minutes or until done.
