WILLIAMSBURG POUND CAKE
1 lb. butter
1 lb. sugar
12 egg yolks
12 egg whites
1 lb. flour
Cream one pound of butter and one pound of sugar togeth-
er, add the well beaten yolks and the stiffly beaten whites and
one pound of flour (sifted twice) alternately to the sugar and
butter mixture. Beat until very light. Pour into a well-
greased and floured mold and bake in a moderate oven. The
secret of this cake lies in careful baking.
