Grandma Huff's Texas Cake Ingredients Cake: 2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1 stick butter 1/2 cup cocoa 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup water 1 tbs soda 1/2 cup milk 2 eggs 1 tbs vanilla
Frosting: 1 stick butter 1/2 cup cocoa 5 tbs milk 1 tbs vanilla 1 lb box powdered sugar Directions 1 For cake: Mix flour and sugar together in large bowl. Bring to a boil butter, cocoa, shortening, and water. Pour hot mixture over flour and sugar and mix well. Add baking soda, milk, eggs and vanilla. Beat on medium until well mixed. Add to greased cake pan. Bake on 400 for 20 minutes. 2 For frosting: Bring to a boil, butter, cocoa, milk and vanilla. Remove from heat and add to one box powdered sugar. Serve on warm cake.
