Apache releases *must* be made from Apache hardware.

Typically the first incubator release from Podlings takes quite a
while to get approved since it requires a very thorough IP review. Of
course, if you IP is in very good order to start with this might not
take so long.

If you plan to do a release in mid-dec it is highly unlikely that it
will be an Apache release for these two reasons. You need to check
with [email protected] what the policy is with respect to doing
releases during the "transition to Apache phase" (note there is
precedent, Subversion did a non-ASF release from non-ASF hardware
after it entered incubation).
