Hello, That's one of my favorite dances to call, and dancers always seem to enjoy it too. I collected it with two allemandes to progress: B2. Ladies alle. Right 1 1/2; Neighbor alle. Left 1 1/2 (really 1 3/4) I haven't tried the orignal version.

Asking the ladies to turn 1/4 might be kind of confusing -- as long as everybody (gents especially) knows they will end up on the other side of the set, and the ladies catch left hands with each other and give right hands to their Neighbor, people will end up in the correct spot. -Also, all the 1s are facing up and 2s facing down, not just the men. It's true, the Men Alle. Left 1x in 4 counts is quick, but they start out so close together and have momentum from the sliding Right that they get around no problem. That is, if you can make them believe that they actually are allemanding Left, not Right. The other thing I've run into is that that people are sometimes confused about which direction to find their new Neighbor in out of the final allemande. Heh, I just realized you're calling it tonight, and are probably at the dance now. Whoops. I hope it went well! -David Giusti ----- Original Message ----- From: Rickey <[email protected]> Date: Monday, February 4, 2008 10:05 am Subject: [Callers] Question About It's a Pirate's Life for Me To: [email protected] > Hi, > > I am preparing to call Nathaniel Jack?s ?It?s A Pirate?s Life for Me? > tonight.
