Thank you for that Luke. Announcing medleys in advance also gives some of us the option of sitting out. Not all dancers like medleys.

I am also curious as to what you mean for the "experience dancers" to actually do when they "help out?"

I would concur with those who recommend NOT doing a contra medley at a regular, open, public contra dance. This is a different breed of contra that is best limited to special events.
