Ladies chain to balance & swing works if it's done like this: ladies join
right hands for a ladies chain, pull by to give left hand to your partner's
left hand, partner courtesy turns his lady, keep left hands together for a
left-hand-balance to swing.

As ever, the teaching is all, imho.
