Before each dance, often DAYS before, Ted would give the band a list of dances 
he was going to call along with suggested tunes.. I'm sure copies of these 
notes went into his archives. I actually never saw him taking notes during the 
dance, maybe at the break, but I was pretty much in awe of the guy and maybe I 
just missed it. After a dance got going, he would often turn around and talk to 
me, or start looking at the "next dance" he was going to call.. BUT, if 
something started to mess up out on the dance floor, he was ALWAYS right there 
to take care of it.. I don't know how he did that, some sort of ESP.. he didn't 
like banjos though.. too bad.. heh heh..
