I'd use a VPN connection or perhaps an ssh tunnel. That way you should be able to communicate freely between the nodes

Yeah, thats the problem. I cant use RTP because the router that installed at the remote location doesnt support port range forwarding, so I can only forward 3 ports maximum. But if I just open 5060 just for SIP hints, and
continued to use IAX2 for the actual VoIP, that should work, right?

lol, or would I get better off just spending the $100 and getting a new
router?
I cant get my backtraces to work, but it seems that IAX2 is always involved
whenever CW crashes.

Just keep in mind that you need RTP open as well, the ports are settable in
rtp.conf

So it would be easier to just forward port 5060 on both sides and use SIP?

I'd guess this could be done with some creative signalling using 'custom headers' in iax2. i don't think custom headers are supported by default, though, but if not, there's a patch out there (IIRC at bugs.digium.com)

Does anyone know a way to get SIP hints from a different server?

Basically, two CW servers separated by the internet and connected with
IAX2.

Any help would be appreciated.
