Does that do the same job as "cidstart=usehist"?  The usehist patch for 
Asterisk 1.2 seemed to apply cleanly once I'd renamed various variables in 
it (and it works)

It looks like it is tied to unknown callerIDs - when the "ogi_" 
environment variables list the caller as "unknown" I get garbage from the 
CALLERID() variables.  (So I've now changed to using the "ogi_" variables, 
which has the side effect of making things slightly quicker too :)

Yes, I discovered this after buying the X100P a few years ago - I have to 
run it with agressive echo suppression, which isn't ideal.  I was hoping 
that we'd get naked DSL showing up in the UK so I could ditch the POTS 
connection altogether anyway (no such luck so far). :-/
