Hi, There's also T38modem. If your setup supports T38modem, the reliability should be better because T38 protocol is specially designed for faxing over IP.
If you choose to use IAXmodem, your fax will be transported over a voice codec that is not designed for this purpose, only a few codecs would give decent results (such as G711 also called PCM) and the latency between your provider MUST be as little as possible (less than 10ms where most dsl links have 40ms latency). That's why i'd prefer T38 because latency is not a problem with it. Give us your feedback ;) Eric ----- Mail Original ----- De: "Torsten Mueller" <tors...@archesoft.de> À: "Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion" <callweaver-users@callweaver.org> Envoyé: Mardi 27 Octobre 2009 08:24:41 GMT +01:00 Amsterdam / Berlin / Berne / Rome / Stockholm / Vienne Objet: Re: [Callweaver-users] outbound faxing Peter Verhoeven schrieb: > SO, I've got callweaver succesfully making outbound voice calls via a third > party sip provider. > > Next, I'd like to send outbound faxes. > > I see the example here: http://www.callweaver.org/wiki/Faxing+With+CallWeaver > > Which I'll try shortly, but I'm concerned about not finding any helpful > references online for integrating Callweaver with Hylafax. Probably iaxmodem is thing you are looking for. http://iaxmodem.sourceforge.net/howto.php It's a "bridge" between CW and Hylafax.
