I could live with TDD mode if ePTP isn't supported; it's really just a stepping stone anyways so it doesn't have to be ideal. > they are still in the business of making $ by selling hardware... Of course, and I wouldn't want to simply use this as a method of bypassing an upgrade to faster & better quality hardware; but rather to have an interim solution that doesn't require tower climbs and truck rolls.
It may not have any impact on link performance, but it would have an impact on management and standardization across the network. > not trying to be totally predatory to UBNT, more of a stepping stone to > convert existing networks over to EPMP. If an operator is looking at elevate seriously, it's because they already know that they like the Cambium Kool-Aid; and they're going to plan on replacing all that UBNT kit with something else anyways. Being able to have a standardized software platform for backhauls as well as clients, until such time as those backhauls can be replaced, would be a very nice feature. A feature that I would gladly pay a reasonable licensing fee for. The fee structure Cambium has released is, in my opinion, quite reasonable. -- ----------------------------------------------- - Nick Bright - - Vice President of Technology - - Valnet -=- We Connect You -=- - - Tel 888-332-1616 x 315 / Fax 620-331-0789 - - Web http://www.valnet.net/ - ----------------------------------------------- - Are your files safe? - - Valnet Vault - Secure Cloud Backup - - More information & 30 day free trial at - - http://www.valnet.net/services/valnet-vault - ----------------------------------------------- This email message and any attachments are intended solely for the use of the addressees hereof.
