No. That information came from David Chandler's book "Pol Pot" Although the Vietnamese put Pol ot into power and introduced him to Mao and his administration. Pol Pot changed benefactors and started dealing with China directly. Pol Pot hated the Vietnamese and resented the fact that he was dependant on tham. That's in the book. I have no reason to doubt Chandlers' research. What I don't remember is WHEN precisely Pol Pot changed over to China. The Americans were kicked out at about the time Phnom Phen fell. Yes or no. I don't remember. What did the KR do with the NVA forces after Phnom Phen fell? NVA forces were seen all over the countryside as written in Francois Bizot's book "The Gate".
