Cretin Chau Bury never says no to medicare and medicaid he received from the socialist states of America, while he never puts his arse to work any single day here.
I can say the same thing to a bunch of welfare generation who spends more time in the chat room than looking for job. Joe, not born in the US but I came here as fast as I could. ________________________________ De : Jayakhmer <[email protected]> À :Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org Envoyé le : Sam 30 Janvier 2010, 22 h 56 min 55 s Objet : Re: The Socialist agenda will not win in America Sorry! I missed all the fun here. It is interesting to see my fellow Khmers repeat a certain political party’s talking points. The problem with talking points is that they sound good, but when you dig just an inch deeper, you will see that the argument falls apart in to smothering. For example: The socialist agenda will not work in America. Having lived in Cambodia under Pol Pot and traveled almost all over the world including many European countries, I know the different between Communist and Socialist. The statement above is nothing more than an embarrass talking point. The term “socialist” has to do much a retribution policy. It makes sense the call Obama’s policy a socialist policy if he raises tax from the rich and retributions the wealth to the poor. Let’s take a look at this point alone. Among the poor in the US are those who depend on government programs known here in California as CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, and Food Stamps. Other states may have different name for these programs. Since the passage of the welfare reform law in August of 1996, welfare fund changed from welfare as an entitlement to a block grant. This means federal government allocates a block grant to be divided among all states. In May of 2009, President Obama sent the 2010 budget of roughly $3.7 trillion to Congress in which contained a $16.5 billion annual block grant to the states for welfare. This amounts to about 0.04% of our national budget.. The socialist argument is laughable if one takes a look at how much Congress approved for Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). In the fall of 2008, Congress approved $700 billion for TARP of which $375 billion was spent. Just GM and Chrysler received about $80 billion. When you look at this issue, this talking point simply does not hold water. The redistribution of wealth is not to poor but to the rich. This policy is nothing resembled to any socialist policy. We Khmer have to be smarter than that.
