Vietnamese Cambodian Le Van La cares for a yellow apricot tree.
The Leuk Daek Distric in Kandal province, Cambodia near the Khanh Binh Border
gate of Vietnam is home of the largest number of overseas Vietnamese.

Vietnamese Cambodian Le Van La, 65, said his family has been here 21 years. The
lunar New Year is an occasion for the family reunions.

“We usually get together to make Banh tet (Cylindrical glutinous rice cake) on
the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month. My wife and daughters-in-law buy
flowers and fruits from the homeland to worship the ancestors” he said.

Bus driver Pham Van Tien and his family have been lived in Cambodia for 40
years. He usually holds many trips bringing overseas Vietnamese to the homeland
for Tet.

“I am Vietnamese. I always remember the national habits and custom. My family
will return the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on the 2nd day of lunar New
Year (February 15) and come back on Tet Thanh Minh (the grave-visiting festival
falls on the 100th from Lichun" (the first solar term in the East Asia
Calendar), he said.

Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia often visit and wish each other prosperity and
luck on Vietnamese traditional Tet occasion. They reminisce memories of the
homeland, Vietnamese Cambodian Le Xuan Tung added.

Sok Kong: I am a Vietnamese

Original article in Vietnamese: “Tôi là người Việt Nam!"

Tôi sinh ra ở Prey Veng. Ba mẹ tôi là người VN, tôi được sinh ra ở CPC. Năm
1975 sang VN làm ruộng ở Đồng Tháp. Lúc đó tôi 23 tuổi. Năm 1979 tôi trở lại CPC

Cambodia. In 1975, I backed to VN and do farming at Don Thap province. I was
then 23. In 1979, I returned to Cambodia

Tôi giàu con lắm, có đến sáu đứa: ba trai, ba gái. Con trai đầu làm việc ở
TP.HCM, con trai thứ hai quản lý khách sạn và xí nghiệp may số 1, con trai thứ
ba quản lý xí nghiệp may 2, ba đứa con gái còn đi học ở Úc.

Translation: I have many children, including 6: 3 sons, 3 daughters. My eldest
son works at HCM(Ho Chi Minh) city; My second son is a manager of a hotel and
garment factory Number 01; My third son is a manager of garment factory Number
02; My three daughters are all studying in Australia.

Trước đây vì một số lý do tôi không muốn ai biết mình là người VN. Còn bây giờ
thì không. Tôi là người VN. Tôi vinh dự về điều đó!

Mr. Koy Kuong (pictured), yuon spokesman for Cambodian Foreign Ministry, said
the ministry has received orders from Prime Minister Hun Sen to prepare the
documents. He also said that Cambodia will take the border case with Thailand
to both the International Court of Justice in The Hague and to the UN Security
Council.

The spokesman said Cambodia has not lodged the legal complaints with the IJC
yet, but Cambodia had already informed the court of its intention to lodge the
complaints.

President Reagan’s demand to Vietnam "Mr. Secretary-General, there are new
hopes for Cambodia, a nation whose freedom and independence we seek just as
avidly as we sought the freedom and independence of Afghanistan. We urge the
rapid removal of all Vietnamese troops.."

" As of today,Cambodia is still occupied by the Vietnamese troops despite the
call from the US president to Vietnam to cease her occupation of Cambodia since
1988.
Our study in depth reveals that the "Cambodian" administration , is run by the
Vietnamese invaders in disguised as "Cambodian " with fake Cambodian names & ID
. Such as :
1. Hok Lundy , non elected Vetnamese communist , Head of Security, Prison
administration, Police
2. Ngor Hong Ly
3. Nger Chhai Lieng
4. Cheam Yiep
5. Um Sarit
6. Svay Sitha
7. Mme Men Sam An
8. Heng Poeuv, Lis Rasi, Hang Vuthy
9. Ong Yin tieng etc….

Suggesting that yuon is a racist word incites racial hatred
Indeed, the word yuon is a Cambodian word to refer to Vietnamese (English),
Vietnamien (french), Voatnam (Chinese Chao Zhou), Yieknam (in Vietnamese
language) or Yia Nam (Chinese mandarin). Therefore in each language, each
nationality has their word to call something differently. Your media accusation
to Mr Sam Rainsy is indeed very provocative and inciting of hate rather than
helping to promote cultural diversity.
