Here is the sad part. Many Cambodians would not like it but it is the truth. The invasion by Vietnamese stopped the killings committed by Cambodians in Cambodia. Cambodians still blame Vietnamese for this and that when the fact was that the negative invasion did good deed. It's very sad, isn't it? > KC, I feel exactly how you felt Brother, you and I used to travel that > road from Takhmau to Saang surrounded ourselves with deadly arsenal of > all types and calibers. Were they not Cambodians? Why did Cambodians destroy their own society? Ofcourse, social injustice could only stay inside ones for so long. Eventually, they would explode. That was what many peasants believe that their fights were legitimate. Their killings were justified. Unfortunately, they have forgotten that they had nothing to rebuild including their own knowledge. > However, one redeeming resolve for all of us the livings is to swear > once and for all that this kind of savagery will not take place again > ever in the motherland, whatever the price may be. > It will take place again in Cambodia in the future. Perhaps, it may not happen during our life time. The social injustice still continues. Rich and powerful people are richer and more powerful, while poor peasants would continue to pass on their own poverty from one generation to another. The history of other poor nations have proved it. > For me the saddest thing of all is that a number of Khmers are still > not keen enough to sense what has hit them broadside or do not care to > find out. We have not heard much of USA and Kissinger any longer. Perhaps, they have realized that they have nothing to go by. Now, they are concentrating on Vietnamese while the truth is that Cambodians have been destroying their own nation with thier own hands with or without the help of other nations. > One recent example: my friend was talking to a senior Khmer gentleman > here in town, while both were watching a video clip about Khmer monks, > and civilians being harassed and beaten by Cousin Xen’s police. This is the truth. It doesn't mean that the society is great. They'd rather blame others because it makes them feel good. The history and facts show clearly how Cambodians destroy their own nation with/without others help. They have been doing it with their own hands to their own people in their own country. This is a fact. > The INDIFFERENTS: Have the capacity to know right from wrong, but > since there is only sacrifice and no incentive in standing up for > truth, so they opt to just hide. > Who really know rights from wrong? Society can be a great one ONLY when the people manage to live together with tolerance. Cambodians don't have that. They still think that they have been loosing to other nations when the facts show clearly how Cambodians destroy their own. > The TRAITORS/COWARDS: Possess all the above characteristics, plus > being highly opportunistic, very manipulative, with insatiable greed > for reward and power, hopelessly shameless, choose to hide behind > their masters while feeding frenzy still last. This is a core of the Cambodian illnesses. Don't blame it on Vietnam. Blame it on the Cambodian society who are still practicing the social injustice, corruption and impunity. These are not light problems. They are rooted into the society for hundreds of years. They will conitinue. My friend, It would take awful alot to change the mentality of the Cambodian people. So the easiest way to deal with the problem is to portrait themselves as victims of another nation like Vietnam. You can blame Vietnamese all you want. Cambodia will always be Cambodia as long as Cambodians continue through their dengerous path. > Some of you CPP & Associates, FUNCINPEC and such, come on out, you > know who you are…….! All Cambodians have equal access to their own nation. Unfortunately, their own people in their own country manipulate each others for their own INDIVIDUAL gains. This is a result of a social injustice, or impunity. Cambodians are very good at that. > Let’s salute all the Passings and the Livings who were and are TRUE > PATRIOTS!!!! > Who are they? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group.
