Hello my beloved Khmer compatriots;
There were nine (9) people organizing the 6/12/2010's meeting. I was one of
them. For the post meeting on 6/17/2010, there were seven (7) people
attending. Two (2) people were helping their families.
On 6/ 12/ 2010's meeting, we had a slice show first showing about Mr. Sam
Rainsy pulled out illegal marks on Cambodian territory, Hun Sen and Vietnamese
primister were standing together next to a big illegal mark of 171, people's
homes were burned due to the forced eviction from Hun Sen government, stricken-
poverty in Cambodia, Sam Rainsy walked in demonstration with people to demand
justice, Sam Rainsy sat next to a wounded man in Phnom Penh. The whole idea of
showing theese pictures was to disclose the facts that we, Cambodains, are
facing Vietnamese brutal occupation in Cambodia. Hus Sen is only puppet of
Vietnam; he receives direct orders from Hanoi. One of the pictures showed Hun
Sen smiled with joy with Prime Minister of Vietnam next to illegal landmark of
171--- the picture was a powerful evidence. The 171 illegal landmarks was
inside Cambodia. We wanted to convey to Khmers in Minnesota and to gathers
support for Sam Rainsy's struggle for Cambodia for free and fair election
without foreign interference. Six (6) Republicans were impressed how brave
Sam Rainsy was. Khmers need more people like Sam Rainsy.
Now I am a member of Sam Rainsy; it means I am part of Camabodian politics. On
6/17/ 2010's meeting, I expressed my opinions to other six (6) members that
Khmers alone cannot get Cambodia out of Vietnamese occupation. We need to get
support from others, such as Americans and American Congress men and women to
Cambodia issues to the surface at US Congress and the UN. The more Cambodian
issues are brought at the US Congress and at the UN the Khmers are able to gain
political strength. Khmers alone are not strong enough to raise vocies at the
US Congress and at the UN. In order to get US support, Khmers need to
participate in US election ( both state and national election). Many Khmers
are able to vote in America. Both Republican and Democrat candicates will
definitely look for Khmers to vote for them. There is a politcal expression in
America " You scratch my back, I will scratch your back." If Khmers can show
up at the poll, Khmers are able to have voices via each district in Minnesota
and through out the United States. If Khmers understand this system, Khmers
will definitely survive. American representatives both state and the US
Congress. Khmers will not get scratched adequately if Khmers don't start to
scratch American backs through voting. Khmers can outsmart Vietnamese by
coming together. By coming together, Khmers are ble to disclose Vietnamese who
lurk hidden behind Hun Sen's regime. As you know today, Vietnamese are using
deception to oursmart Khmers in front of world body and the US Congdress. With
that perspective, we will inevitably pay a heavy price (extinction) for our
children.
