New cheap air route to Vietnam to open
Thai Airasia is expected to open an air-route with cheap fares from Bangkok,
Thailand, to Hanoi in mid-October, said the Vietnam Civil Aviation.
The first flight is to take off on October 17, according to the aviation.
The Thai Airasia is due to use Boeing 737-300 with 148 seats for the economy
class and business class.
A single ticket will cost about 1,449 baht (nearly US $40) while a return
ticket
from the Thai Airways or Vietnam Airlines costs 13,785 baht and 17,480 baht
respectively.
The airlines’ representative said he hoped the route would reach 80% occupancy
rate. The airlines is also asking the Vietnamese government to open a route
from
Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City, the biggest hub of Vietnam.
This will be the second airline offering cheap flights to Vietnam following
Singapore’s Tiger Airways.
