NATIONAL Assembly President Heng Samrin yesterday raised the prospect of Human Rights Party President Kem Sokha’s being stripped of his parliamentary immunity. Kem Sokha has been accused of breach of trust and using false documents during his time as head of the NGO Cambodian Centre for Human Rights. “I will have regret if this people’s representative would be suspended,” Heng Samrin said during a meeting at the assembly. “We cannot do anything but respect the legal procedure.” A questioning session in the case is scheduled for next month. Deputy Prosecutor Sok Roeun said it was too early to discuss Kem Sokha’s immunity because he had not yet testified. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group.
