You are obsolutely right. However, you must understand that what you are saying is an accusation. It may or may not be the truth. "giving land away" is bad as you said if it is true. "Killing thy own people" is bad as you said if it is true. The truth means a proven fact. > You don't jail Khmers for loosing lands to foreign thief, prosecuting . That is just simply wrong. Spin > anyway they like, Mr. Sothea or the rests of the GQRU team wanted to spin, > but that is not politically and/or morally right. > Read your own writing. This paragraph is full of accusations. My friend, I am not a fan of Hun Sen and CPP, nor I defend them of anything. However, I look at the reality. There is no way that Cambodians can prove what is Cambodian land unless Cambodians have some sort of evidence. We know what Sam Rainsy has given the world to see. He is using a modern electronic information to be the fact to support his position. Let me see. Google just changed its position when the government of Cambodia complained about what position they have given the world to believe. What it means that Google itself has no fact. If Google does have the fact, it should stand on what they had, but they did not. > The CPP-led government knows how unpopular their programs have become in the > way they running the country. They are not a fan of any political party. Actually, they are pure businessmen. Here is what they said. Cambodia today is far better than it had ever been. The people are far better now than they had ever been in the past. The economy is sound unlike the American economy. Cambodian economy dropped just a little while the American economy is in the recession. There may be corruption as you said. Yet, the proven fact is that Cambodians are better in their living condition. Remember! Corruption and impunity are part of the Cambodian tradition. They see corruption as a way to get things done with government. It happens from the top all the way to the bottom. It's not just Hun Sen government. It has been that way since I was born. And the society itself looks at impunity as a noble position. They obey those who have the money. Social classification exists well. The society itself embraces it. > You can lie to the poor and the desperates once or twice, but you won't be > able to do that too many times. Certainly, if the CPP is worrying, > so is their master right next door. > If Hun Sen and CPP loose in the next election, then it proves that democracy is alive in Cambodia. It doesn't mean that they embrace dictatorship as many people have been saying. Read this paragraph. You don't show the facts. "Jail Khmer farmers, prosecuting Khmer elected MP..." doesn't tell the whole truth. Let me show just a little piece to see what you said. Hun Sen said something indirectly toward Mu. Mu took it as a direct attack on her. Then she filed a lawsuit in court based on that fact. The case was dismissed because it was groundless. At the same time, Hun Sen also suit Mu for defemation by using Mu's own act to prove it. He won the case. Who is stupid here? Hun Sen or Mu? On the other hand, a diplomat called Sam Rainsy took the matter into his own hands. He and some of his supporters pulled the border demarkation to demonstrate that it's not correct. They all may be right. Unfortunately, they have not been able to prove it completely because it is a disputed land. The government then used Sam Rainsy and his supporters act to court for what they had done, not for what they said about the disputed land. Sam Rainsy and his supporters are jailed for their own acts. These two cases proves what Sam Rainsy and his followers have been doing. Hun Sen and his followers are so brilliant not to attack what they believe. If you look at their movement, they just wait for Sam Rainsy and his followers to act. Then they use those acts to convict them in court. If Sam Rainsy and his followers are so smart, they would not have acted as they have been doing. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group.
