Shoes bearing Cambodia's royal coat of arm for sale in the UK: Is it OK to be
indignant?

TO COMPARE TO DUCH THE VIETNAMESE( EX KHMER ROUGE UNDER POL POT ) THE 20 000
KHMER KILLER DURING POL POT ERA,
TO HENRY KISSINGER WITH SECRET BOMBING OF CAMBODIA IN 1969-1972 , LE DUC THO ,
and William Laws Calley?

FOR WILLIAM LAWS CALLEY ?IT IS JUST A SCAPE GOAT, issued by THE COUNCIL ON

KI-Media Note: Words underscored above contain typos pointed by KI-Media
readers. It should be noted that Zazzle sells shoes bearing more than just
Cambodia's royal coat of arms, the pair of sneakers below shows a picture of
Sunset on Angkor Wat. While in Cambodia and in Asia, such display is an insult,
in the west, such display is in fact used as advertisement also. Something to
think about!

What: “Human Development: People are the Real Wealth of Nations”

Human development is a concept that offers an alternative approach to
development thinking, shifting attention of development work from mere economic
growth more towards people’s well-being. It argues that development is about
ensuring people’s freedom and opportunities to live long, healthy and creative
lives with dignity. Since its introduction to the world 20 years ago through
publication of Human Development Reports, the human development approach has
generated a wide range of discussions among development thinkers and
practitioners, and gained enormous popularity across the world, incorporated
into various governments’ policy making and research agendas. This presentation
attempts to give an overview of the concept – its background, fundamental
concept, recent evolution in human development thinking and measurement. Human
development is an approach that encompasses a wide spectrum of issues which
cannot be covered in one short lecture. This introductory presentation is
intended as a food for thought for further discussions, reading, thinking and
research among participants.
