It was said like this all along. it is true that French think Vietnamese are smarter than Cambodians. Let us put that aside and pay full attention to Cambodia itself for this purpose.
It it true that Cambodians are lazy when it comes to work? Let us make comparison to American work force. I strongly believe that Cambodians are working far less than the American workforce. Now, don't misunderstand that heavy work is the same as hard work. Cambodians may do heavier work due to lack of equipments use. Let us take a look at poor people in rural area. Many Cambodian peasants have stucked to their tradition rice growing. The season itself is about five months. They work hard for about one month to two months. Then they spend their summer collecting wood and fish for their rice growing season. Those activities can only amount to small effort to accomplish. Actually, it would take American people to do in a very short period of time. Now, this is the truth. Cambodians cannot produce to support their own country while clinging to this tradition. Cambodians can't even compare themselves to Thai people. It's time to wake up. When?
