The problem has already started. The major concern is to minimize the
damage to the political stability, which foreign investors used to make
their decision whether to invest in the area or not. As we all know,
Cambodia has come a very long way in this matter. Unfortunately, their
political settlement has not been established clearly. They continue to
show the world that they are still fighting each other for power. We are
not blaming just any one party. It's the whole political establishment.
That is the core of the democratic outcome.
We know that people are strugling to establish a political process. It's
very true that people need freedom for themselves as well as their future
generation. Unfortunately, democracy always come with the price. Are the
Cambodian people willing to pay anything for the democracy movement for
better future? Let them decide. In this case, they have to look the effect
it may come to their livelihood. Investors confidence is a key to bring
them in invest in their country. We have seen the flux of small to midium
businesses investing in Cambodia. Garment industries have brought millions
and millions of dollars into the Cambodian economy. It translates into
better living condition for many poor people all over the country. Are they
risking those opportunities for democracy of uncertainty for their future?
They have to decide.
