40 years ago April 16, 1975 I was in Kompong Som and my office located at Old Resort Building O Cheuteal beach front.There was no beach goers nor tourists because of WAR. There I met several friends whom were student at Lycee Sisowat (Phnom Daun Penh) April i was boarding helicopter with General Ith Kyath chief 4 bureau du EMG ( ETAT MAJOR GENERAL under FANK), Since there was no flight to Phnom Penh only flight to Battambang, so I have to take Helicopter to Phnom Penh. We arrived at Phnom Penh 5PM April 16.1975. We landed at Olympic stadium.From Kompong Som I bought cigarette Samit Sip See thai brand 12 carton but I forgot in the cyclo en route to my house. Unfortunately all people living at Pochentong a la ceinture de Phnom Penh must be moved in to the downtown. My family was scattered every where my Buddhist uncle with group of monks were at Hospital Lok Sang and my parent at Khlang Rum Sev accross from city officier close to Deum Kor Market. The next morning April 17, 1975 at 9 AM.My city of Phnom Penh where I grew up and educated was felt to the hand of Khmer Rouge definitely. The khmer Rouge marched from Stung Mean Chey to Psar Deum Kor we were cheering the Khmer Rouge soldier. I took off my military uniform wearing Khor Chev chemise shirt white color and handling white flag to indicated we are the loser. We lost the war we were prisoner of war the winner was Khmer Rouge and the loser is me and other Republic armed forces. In National Radio broadcasting in French it called Le radio National diffusion, General Seur Tin Chan declaring to stop fighting we are at peace and asking all khmer Armed Forces to lay down weapons. Most of them did without reservation because we need peace and we thought Khmer never killed khmer.
