This is perhaps a stupid question, but here goes anyway...
I'm contemplating a 5x7 homebuilt flatbed view camera. I've
looked at everything I could find on the web (Jon Grepstad's
pages and book are especially good) as well as looking at
numerous pix of cameras. What puzzles me is how one guarantees
a light-tight seal around the film holder. It appears to my
naive eye that there could be sneak paths around the edges,
mainly because I can't imagine one could achieve a tight enough
fit to prevent them.
Am I missing something in the construction aspects? Or is this
one of the functions of the dark cloth?
Thanks for the bandwidth and the info.
steve
