FYI Injection molding plastics. Worked one Horrible summer in a plastics
factory. Tool and die makers make this type of mold for the parts by hand.
Was told then that a mold costs $10,000.00 (circa 1978!). Would suggest that
there's gotta be a cheaper way. Perhaps sand cast pot metal or even renting
time on a CNC milling machine! Only the base of the back and the film rails
need any high degree of precision milling. Cut a few gears and your done.
Used Calumet and Graphlex roll film backs show up from time to time. As you
say, new Calumet is pricey (but look like a real bargain when you comparison
shop 'em to the Sinar and Linhof offerings!).
