Just as a side note. I was looking through an old
modern photography magazine for 1977 (I believe). The
one-third page add for the Calumet C2 roll film back
for spring-back 4x5 cameras listed a retail price of
$48. Comparing gasoline at $.80 to $1.00 then to
twice that now, I figure the C2 should list for about
$89.95. I guess the volume is not there anymore.
If someone has contacts in the plastic injection
molding business I have adapt-a-roll 620's in 2x3 and
4x5 that could be used as models. Engineering would
consist of modifying the design to accept 120 rather
than 620 rolls and changing the direction of the
wind-on. Although some models had the wind-on in the
proper direction the ones I have do a reverse wind-on.
The film "sproings" when you unload it and fogs the
edges.
I do not know if there are patent problems. I would
buy several of these if the price were reasonable, but
on a retirement income I can't justify spending more
for a roll-film holder that I did for my camera and lens.
