some thoughts on hp scanners should anyone wish
to try them...
i wrote the toolkits for the scanners while at hp (4c and 5p
scanners were the last, then i left hp). the scanner wont work if the
light source is off, has to do with the self calibration.
twain, at least for the hp scanners, restricts the number of
controls you have. the scl toolkit (scanner control language)
provided access to most all other features.
i can probably still support the old hp scnners if anyone has
one and wonts to write code... but i don't think it'll work for
the purposes of this thread.
