Perhaps this is a stupid question, I've never used a view camera, although I'm in the planning stages to construct one.
I've been pondering the issue of the size of the back box and the apparent limitations it imposes on front movements. This seems to me to be a consequence of the bellows mounting arrangement - if the mount intrudes, say, 1/2" from the inner dimensions of the back, then at some point of front movement this will begin to cause shadowing of one of the film edges. The solution would seem to be making the back dimensions larger (and the weight heavier). I haven't seen any discussion of this in any of the materials I've acquired to date regarding the design and construction of view cameras. Is this a real consideration, or in practice are movements never (or seldom) so extreme as to require concern? Thanks for your thoughts. steve _______________________________________________ Cameramakers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://rmp.opusis.com/mailman/listinfo/cameramakers
