it seems reverting to an older version of chrome.rdf did the trick. it
actually needed to be a much older version: from the Chimera folder, not the
Camino folder.

need to say thanks to all the coders out there. i'm big on QA and
functionality, but coding isn't my thing -- i try to help how i can. camino
is the best browser out there!
