The biggest benefit I could see to this would be for folks who back up their profiles frequently;
An additional advantage is the fact that cleanup tools usually delete the cache-folder (OnyX for instance). And besides that - it's more consistent with other applications - so why not do it :-)?
A down side might be that all the site icons will be removed when ever the cache is cleaned by another application. Other then that I guess it would be good to put it there, especially since our support folder would get smaller and that means easier to backup.
I've never really known what the whole disappearing site icons thing is about. Can't they just be cached somewhere (in this case, somewhere *else*) and restored?
Why do various activities cause them to go away?
