A few months ago an article was posted on macosxhints which states that the CPU usage of Camino can be reduced by changing one of the widgets to a "less cpu intensive type":

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030920075803942

Can anyone confirm this and whether it affects current machines? As Camino seems to be the top speed browser we should do anything to let it stay in that position ;-).

Besides that http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192642 still seems to be a problem. Its targeted for 0.8 and from what I've seen some releases weren't affected by this bug but the current betas starting showing that behaviour again on my machine that after some use (and perhaps a few minutes after waking up from sleep) Camino starts eating CPU cycles without any reason (and without any open windows). As most of the recent comments on that bug came from me, am I the only one affected or do other people simply restart Camino when it happens?

Cheers,

  Martin
