Uhm, I know this isn't probably a Camino-only issue. I just checked and, as I expected, I found that the autocomplete attribute is NOT present in the HTML spec.
I actually understand it has some use in certain types of sites, but I'm wondering if a browser should support it.

Basically, browsers were/are given two choices: support autocomplete=off, or be locked out of many internet banking sites. Users don't care about the standards, they care about being able to do their online banking, so this was one place where practicality trumps idealism in supporting only standards.

Anyway, is the hidden pref indicated here

working on Camino?

No, but it probably should be. I just opened a bug to add support for it in Camino.
