Thanks we have another month to go yet. We didn't really have a problem with the ekg it was the electrodes from the monitor that were the worst. It was ridiculous the very first time he had it done (he was a little over a month) I couldn't even begin to tell you how much tape they used, I couldn't believe it. The poor baby was red on his chest for days. They gave us these little sachets that were supposed to help get the glue off, well it didn't work worth a crap. All I can say its a good thing that same nurse wasn't there the 2nd time we went. Is Brett doing okay now ? JulieP

Very traumatic for all for all of us. The ekg was the worst and the hospital staff was not used to doing these for little kids. The lady that did the Echo was much better. She smeared him with lotion to get the strips off, it dissolved the glue on them and they pilled right off, unlike at the hospital where they just ripped them off. Good luck with the test! When he was 6 days old in NICU his heart rate went over 300 beats, basically its an elevated heart rate. Its not something that happens all the time, it could have been a one time thing or something that happens more frequently. He's only had a few episodes. When we first brought him home we had to have him on a monitor that would monitor his heart rates and his sleep apnea but several months ago, after he participated in a sleep study he was taken off that. So now every 3 months until he turns 1, we take him to the Children's hospital and they do an ekg and then put a Holder monitor on him for 24 hours, which records his heart. We also had him on medicine 4 times a day which would keep his heart rate a little slower. But thankfully now we hardly ever give it to him. I was so p*ssed at his last exam the monitor didn't record anything. The doctor called and said usually 1 out of 100 don't record and my little darling was the lucky one who got it. Its not a painful test, but the older he gets the more uncomfortable it is for him. He has all these electrodes stuck all over his little chest and then this monitor that he has to keep elevated, which at his age now will make it harder for him to play etc. Its a pain in the butt !! The worst part is when you have to take off the electrodes they really hurt him because it pulls/rips his skin. His aunt usually gets stuck doing that, and she just cries because it hurts him so much. But hopefully if all goes well he'll only have to have 2 more times doing this. Why, if you don't mind me asking, does Brandon have to go to the cardiologist? I am sure you have told us before, but I have no memory cells left in my body:) Missy *:*::*:*:*::*:* ( ( (^) (*) I I @@@@@@@@ | Happy 4th | | Birthday!!! | | Brett | @@@@@@@@@@ *:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* Counting down to Brett's Birthday! August 26, 2004 _____ From: Palumbo, Julie [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, August 12, 2004 8:32 AM To: wm Subject: [wm] Good morning ladies Well yesterday I took Jason and Brandon to the doctors for their 9 month appt. I was soo happy Brandon is FINALLY on the growth chart !! :-) Jason now weighs 17.5 pounds and is 28 1/4 inches long and is 5-10 percentile for his weight and in 50 percentile for his height. My little guy Brandon is 17.2 pounds and 26 1/2 inches long, so for his height he's in the 5-10 percentile and for his weight he's in the 5 percentile. But that's okay they're steadily gaining weight and growing. Poor little guys had to get 2 shots each, they cried initially while they got them but that was about it. I need to take them to the lab to get some blood work. All in all it was a good visit. I don't know if any of your babies are doing this but mine have their 2 bottom teeth and are both getting 2 top teeth (not the ones in the middle, the ones next to them) the pedi said about 5% of babies cross-teeth and he thought it was funny that both of my boys teeth were growing in that way. Hope everyone's day is starting off great JulieP --- --- You are currently subscribed to wm as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% <http://www.incredimail.com/index.asp?id=809&lang=9> ---------- --- You are currently subscribed to wm as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
