Lauren has a summer cold and has been a real grouch this week. She is also
really into testing me lately to see what she can get away with. She is smart
enough to have figured out that the best time to get into things is when I sit
down to nurse Kathryn. No continues to be her favorite word and she uses it
as often as possible. Sometimes without even meaning to. She said 'no, no, no'
in her singsong way the other day before quickly realizing what she had
turned down and said "YES, yes, yes!" as fast as she could. She loves her little
leap alphabet thing for the fridge. If you don't have it yet, I highly
recommend it. It sure beats the cheap-o letter for the fridge that I had bought at
big lots. As a result of this toy she is always asking me to do the ABC's with
her and loves to repeat them after me or little leap. She sang Twinkle,
Twinkle to me last night for the first time- "twinkle little star, what you are,
sky, twinkle little star."

She loves to sit on her potty; fully dressed. She hates sitting on it
without her pants on and has yet to go in it. I don't want to push it so I will
wait a bit longer. She weighs 21 pounds and like a typical toddler has days
where she eats nonstop and other days where I swear she eats nothing at all. Her
clothes range from 9-24 months.

She loves to play outside with the kids in the neighborhood. She is the
youngest but thinks she is 4, 5 and 6 like they are. It is a chore for me because
they usually play unsupervised so if Lauren wants to play with them I need to
tag along but Lauren gets a real kick out of being a big kid and they are
really good with her.

Kathryn Grace had her 2 month check up on Tuesday. She weighed 10lbs. 8oz
and was 21.5 inches. Her head measured 38.5cm. That put her in the 50% for
weight and head and the 25% for height. She was cooing away at the nurse when
the first shot came, boy was she mad.She was so upset, my heart just broke
for her.

Kathryn is such a great baby. She sleeps 8, sometimes 10 hours at night.
She nurses frequently during the day but it is worth it for the long stretch
at night. She only take little cat naps during the day but will take long
naps when we are out and about. She is very happy and even puts up with her
sister constantly bugging her. She smiles and coos all the time and is trying
to laugh but hasn't quite managed it yet. She has incredible neck control and
cannot stand to be cradled like a baby she has to always be able to see what
is going on.

I didn't know what to expect with the girls only 19 months apart but so far
the girls adore each other. This morning they were lying my bed while I got
dressed and Kathryn was screeching at Lauren trying to get her attention. It
was really funny. This afternoon we were at a friends house and everytime the
18 month old came near the car seat Lauren would yell at her "no, MY baby"
When Reagan got too close Lauren tried to hit her. Obviously not good behavior
but in a way it was cute to see Lauren so protective of 'her' baby.

Hope everyone is doing well. I have added some pictures to the group
website.

Sarah
