MOVIES
Review: Get a kick out of Hero, Jet Li's new thoughtful martial arts flick
"Hero" thrashes its way into your adrenal glands with a flying dove kick, mercilessly
grinding out thrills with brutal, yet elegant precision.

Review: Control Room provides insight into some graphic differences
The best cinematic dig at Fox News Channel's claims of fairness and balance isn't made
in Robert Greenwald's focused slam at Rupert Murdoch's media empire, the DVD-release
"Outfoxed."
***TONIGHT*** A panel discussion follows tonight's 7:20 p.m. showing. It is sponsored
by The Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Arizona and the Tucson
Cinema Foundation.

Hottie role can make or break career
When an actor or actress answers media types' questions about what led him or her to
take a certain role, the answer usually has something to do with being intrigued by
the character, challenged in some way or always wanting to work with the director,
co-star, etc.

MUSIC/CONCERTS
In concert: Audio Karate's chops more seasoned
Guitarist Art Barrios of the So-Cal punk band Audio Karate has noticed a lack of
certain creature comforts while on the road: A warm bed. Home-cooked meals. In a
recent phone interview from New York City, a deficiency in personal hygiene seemed to
be foremost on his mind.

The 2004 Projekt Revolution Tour: Linkin Park's diversity project
Nice guys don't always finish last. Linkin Park, arguably the most popular rock band
of the day, proves the point. While many bands seem to do everything they can to avoid
being known as nice guys, the six members of n metal rap rock group Linkin Park seem
to invite the image.

Ill need to get a ride with you," said Ernie out of the middle of nowhere. We were
waiting for his turn to sing Karaoke at the AmVet Post #15 at 7th St. and Broadway in
South Phoenix Wednesday night. "I live at 13th and Pima on the west side, he
followed. "I wish I would have known you were going to need a ride, Ernie," I said. "I
have to leave early, before you sing the last time, sorry."
