Hi,

It's Thomas Rutter again from SitePoint. I noticed you hadn't yet ordered
"HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables Using CSS", so I thought I'd
contact you to see if you had any questions about CSS that I might be
able to help you with....

If you've misplaced the sample chapters that you downloaded from us
a little while ago, you can pick them up again anytime at this URL:

But before you do that, just let me quickly tell you a story about my
experiences with CSS... This is a true story.

As you know I work for SitePoint in Customer Support... I also have my
own hobby Website, which I mainly use to improve my Web Design skills.

At the time SitePoint published 'HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables
Using CSS' I knew very little about CSS... I knew it was the next big
thing in Web Design (the guys here couldn't stop raving about it) but
I hadn't really done anything with CSS layout, never mind taking my
table-driven Website and turning into pure CSS...

So anyway, SitePoint gave me this book before it was launched to see
whether it would teach me how to take my own site and turn it into a
clean, table-free, CSS based Website.

I have to say, the book was great... In around 3 days I was coding
CSS with confidence... My hobby site (JokesPlace.com) now has no
tables to be found anywhere - it's now completely reliant on CSS
for its layout.

It loads faster than it ever did before - it's a thousand times easier to
make changes to the layout of the page - and I no longer have to wade
through all the HTML files to find what I'm looking for... I simply change
one CSS file and the whole site layout changes. It's fantastic!

The difference that CSS has made to the way I now build sites is quite
astonishing... I can now fully appreciate where things are heading with
modern Web Design.

I personally recommend that if you haven't already, download the sample
chapters and read them, or better still just get the book and take a day
out to read it. You'll thank me later, trust me!

If I can help you with anything, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm
more than happy to talk to you more about my experiences with CSS or
this book. If you have any questions simply reply to this email.

All the best,

Thomas Rutter,
Customer Support Manager
