Serious Microsoft Bug Affects Wide Variety Of
Software

The serious bug in graphics processing
announced this week by Microsoft raises
more questions than it may seem at first
glance. As broad as the list of affected
programs may seem, it may be even broader
than that. Microsoft has provided a tool to
determine if you are running affected programs,
but does it do what you would expect of it?

The nature of the bug gives me pause and I
have to wonder how many other bugs Microsoft
found in the course of writing Windows XP SP2
that are out there sitting around leaving earlier
versions of Windows vulnerable.

Read the rest of Larry's column here.
