Abraham Lincoln Dear Vorticians, With less than two weeks to go before VORTEX 2004, Geoff Moore and I are busy sharpening our axes in preparation for the event. We're polishing the agenda and honing our questions for our terrific speakers. Geoff gave executives in Silicon Valley a taste of the VORTEX menu when, on Wednesday, he chaired a panel discussion at the Churchill Club called "Orchestrating the Stack: The Next Major Competition Game in Enterprise Computing." Geoff's fellow panelists included Roman Bukary of SAP, John Magee of EMC, Shantanu Narayen of Adobe Systems and Don Proctor of Cisco. The theme of that discussion is central to the VORTEX: How will the future of enterprise computing take shape? How will the current leaders make the transition to a new world beyond client- server computing and how will innovators capitalize on the shifts? In addition to showcasing Geoff's insights on these issues, VORTEX brings together the perspectives of companies like IBM, SAP, Oracle, HP, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft and Sun, as well as the top analysts, leading CIOs, savvy investors and disruptive innovators. I'm thrilled with what we've been able to put together for our cream-of-the-crop attendees. This is the last Digest for a couple of weeks as we travel to VORTEX. I'm eager to get back and discuss the news and insights from the event. If you're headed to VORTEX, I look forward to seeing you in person! P.S. If you're one of those last-minute types, you can still register for VORTEX at http://www.vortex.net. Hope you can make it.
