Your Hosts Michael Miller and Jake Ludington

For you regular visitors to the Digital Lifestyles Reference Guide, I'm a new face. My name is Michael Miller, and I'm sharing co-host duties with Jake. My background is somewhat eclectic, but suffice to say that I write a lot of books about a lot of topics — including a number of digital lifestyle topics. Read my bio to learn more, or visit my personal website for a complete bibliography.

This week we're focusing on portable digital music players, or what some folks call MP3 players. Personally, I don't like the term "MP3 player" because it implies the player is only compatible with MP3 files. To learn more about the various type of portable digital audio players, check out the latest addition to the reference guide, Portable Digital Audio Players.

In related matters are two articles on home theater surround sound. How Surround Sound Works explains the technology behind the various types of surround sound. And The History of Surround Sound takes you from the very earliest multi-channel systems to today's 7.1-channel technology.
