Well, it works fine for me.  I don't understand why you need to change the
coordinates from WITHIN a program.  I don't want to set the coord
IN the program, I want to set it BEFORE I start the program.  Then, I
keep the same offset until I change tools.

In EMC, you can set the coordinates by right clicking the mouse over
the axis display and entering the value.  If you want to set the axis to
zero, just hit the enter key after the right click.  This works fine for
me.  (There was a different way to use G92 on the first EMC systems,
but it has been changed to reset at the end of a program.  But, the
screen-mouse setting is retained.

Once you have the tool set for one part, you can use a combination
of G10 L2 P(number) and G54-G59.n to create offsets to multiple
workpieces, or other features on the workpiece.
