On the ground is a lot easier than in a little water.  Glad to know you can  knock the 
pole back as the boat begins to right.  would hate to stick the pole into the mud and 
then force it through the tramp or something.  Next time I see you  we will have to 
give it a try or at least get a good look at the rig.

BTW.  I have righted a N5.8 by standing on the high hull and hooking into a lengthened 
trap wire at 150# (yes it was a long time ago)

I ain't gonna say, but I'm not a small girl. And yes I can right the 
boat alone. The thing about a righting pole is that it takes less 
weight to right because you have a longer lever arm in operation.



And to answer your question, Marc...

Don't you recall the second time I broke my halyard there on the TCD 
beach? And we flipped the Sq over there on the beach to tie the sail 
up? And we got little, bitty, teeny, Kathy to haul the sq back on her 
feet? Like that.  I think it's way easier to right in shallow water - 
the thing is to be ready to knock the pole back under the boat 
instead of letting it dangle, but since you can stand in 8" of water, 
that's not a problem, yes?
