Dear Friend,

What kind of God do we worship? A God Who did not visit those in
luxurious palaces, but met with those dwelling in tents. He has brooded
over the empty planet, then molded man and woman from its dirt. He
brought forth fish and fowl from the water He later walked on. He came
as a burning bush, a cloud, a pillar of fire, the sound of mighty wind
and as a baby! He buried Moses and raised Lazarus. He entered Jerusalem
on a lowly donkey and will return victoriously on a white horse. At
birth, His cry was heard by innocent animals and worshipping shepherds.
In death, His cry of forgiveness fell on the ears of despising sinners.
On creation's third day, He made the tree on which He was to hang,
impaled by the tools of His earthly trade, only to rise on death's third
day. At times, crowds dogged Him, yet He walked with His disciples who
did not recognize Him. The infinite 'Judge of the living and the dead'
allowed Himself to be judged by finite man. His finger has etched words
on tablets, in dust and on man's heart. No man can see His face and
live; yet He lives within the heart of His creation. That's the kind of
God we worship!

"For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him."
Colossians 1:16

John MacArthur examines the disturbing trend that has replaced true
worship with entertainment in GRACE TO YOU's FREE article, "Gimme That
Showtime Religion":

Greg Laurie of A NEW BEGINNING explains that Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He
has placed 'eternity in our hearts.'" We sense there is something more,
and it causes us to worship. Of course, not everyone worships God. But
when you get down to it, everyone worships. Everyone has built an altar
to someone or something in their lives. Read more from his FREE
article, "Wired to Worship":
