Hi Jackie - Until Kathleen's post, I had no idea who Leonard was, hadn't even heard his name before this thread. He might have been mentioned by name in the plethora of websites referencing the Slabs, but the name didn't connect. I cued in on the "Info" sign and bulletin board for when I arrived at the site. >Try Bouse, AZ for just about the cheapest camping RV Park-wise, do a >google. Thanks for the info. I did a quick Google and found several interesting websites and RV parks. I'll check into it more thoroughly although I prefer dry camping to full hook-ups. However, I've found that wherever large commerical RV parks exist, there's usually freebie or low-cost long-term parking in the vicinity. This list, the SLABS list, and one or two others all ranted and raved about how great Slab City was, about all the great people who were there, about all the fun times there, and the major efforts underway to keep the place clean. Something was lost in transition. While my expectations weren't particularly high, I had not been informed there was a security risk and a criminal element residing there. > >I just put my Garth Brooks CD on, ah! here it is, can you hear it? >I'll turn it up, " I got friends in low places, where the whiskey >drowns and the beer chases, think I'll slip on down to the Oasis, >Oh! And relatively clean. With friendlier people. Not someplace that's been trashed, where burglars prowl, and where people don't try to bite your head off. ------------------------ Yahoo!
