December 15, 2004 Issue: IR-2004-148 IRS Selects 12 New Members for IRS Advisory Council WASHINGTON � The Internal Revenue Service has announced the selection of 12 new members for the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). The appointees will join 10 returning members who are in the second year of a three-year term. The 12 new members appointed to serve on the council are:
IRSAC was established in 1953 to focus on broad policy matters. The council�s primary purpose is to provide an organized public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss relevant and emerging tax issues. Council members offer recommendations, observations and operational improvements regarding IRS� polices, programs and procedures that have a substantive impact on federal tax administration.
