Hmm - trying to help here too as I have the same problem.
$ sudo gem update --system
ERROR: http://rubygems.org does not appear to be a repository
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteFetcher::FetchError)
SocketError: getaddrinfo: No address associated with nodename
(http://rubygems.org/yaml)
Was fine about 2 weeks ago.
For now, I just advised Raimon to fetch it from:
--source http://gems.judofyr.net/

Try a `sudo gem update --system` first to upgrade to the latest
RubyGems
